Garment Care

Care Instructions

Supima cotton gets better with age — if you care for it right. Follow these guidelines to keep your Garmium pieces looking and feeling premium.

How to Care for Your T-Shirt

🧺

Wash Cold

Machine wash on a gentle or delicate cycle in cold water (30°C or below). Cold water preserves colour and prevents shrinkage.

🧴

Mild Detergent

Use a mild, colour-safe detergent. Avoid bleach or fabric softeners — they break down the natural fibre structure of Supima cotton.

🔄

Turn Inside Out

Always turn garments inside out before washing. This protects the outer surface and keeps printed or dyed areas looking fresh longer.

💧

Do Not Tumble Dry Hot

Tumble dry on low heat or lay flat to dry. High heat can shrink the fabric and weaken the fibres over time.

🧲

Iron on Low

If ironing is needed, use a low-to-medium heat setting and iron inside out. Do not iron directly over printed areas.

🗂️

Store Folded

Fold and store flat rather than hanging. Hanging on wire hangers for extended periods can distort the shoulder shape.

What to Avoid

A few simple rules that will significantly extend the life of your garment.

  • Do not use bleach or harsh stain removers.
  • Do not wash in hot water (above 30°C).
  • Do not tumble dry on high heat.
  • Do not dry-clean unless the label specifically states so.
  • Do not leave wet garments bunched up for extended periods.
  • Do not iron directly on prints or embellishments.

Why It Matters

Supima cotton is a natural, long-staple fibre. Unlike synthetic fabrics, it breathes, softens with every wash, and develops a beautiful drape over time. But like all natural fibres, it responds to how you treat it.

Heat is the number one enemy of Supima cotton. High-temperature washes and tumble drying cause fibre shrinkage and weaken the fabric faster. Cold water and air drying preserve the original softness and dimensions of the garment.

Store your t-shirts folded in a cool, dry place. Avoid compressed storage for long periods. If your t-shirt has been sitting unworn for a while, a gentle cold wash is all it needs to feel fresh again.
